As with several of the other projects on this website, these recent works continue to be largely inspired by the countryside near my home in Castelnau de Montmiral. While some paintings remain fairly straightforward in their figurative nature, others, such as Diane’s Way 2 and Entering In, reveal a movement away from naturalistic texture and light that allows for a greater emphasis on shape, color and qualities of light that are intrinsic to the painting itself.
