Basic geometry and symbols continue to pervade in both my painted and charcoal works created during my graduate studies in painting at Boston University. I was also technically and conceptually inspired by a summer online course in pochoir with Liz Ferrill through the Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Sometimes figurative elements play a part in the final works. The paintings are created with many layers and a wide variety of paint application techniques including printing, stenciling, staining and rubbings. My hope is that the subtle works evoke contemplation and hope during these cataclysmic times.
