Sarah Elliott

During the summer of 2010, I participated in a 5-week artist residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York. This gave me an opportunity to discuss my work with professional artists and attend weekly lectures. The work I produced is unfinished, however I’m including it because it liberated parts of me that had been little explored previously, and that influenced some of my future work, most noticeably the compositions in charcoal. Particularly meaningful for me was my engagement with my long-standing and enduring interest in pattern.
