It was my fascination with the constant evolution and beauty of the countryside around Castelnau de Montmiral, that led to these paintings in oil and watercolor.  As I sought to reflect the innate synchronicity in what I saw, I found that a priority was to create harmonious whole-field color relationships: I have learnt that for all the elements to fall into place, the hue, lightness, texture, extent and placement of each and every region of color plays an equally significant role, not only in this series of work, but in all the works I do.
